Clinical Psychologist, MSc
Alexandra Panaite is a Psychologist specializing in Clinical and Child Psychology. She has 8 years of experience in the mental health field in London, United Kingdom, and Greece. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, traumatic experiences, emotional difficulties, and addiction issues, providing psychological support aimed at enhancing mental resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth.
Throughout her professional career, she has worked across healthcare services, mainstream and special education schools, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), and substance misuse services in London. In these roles, she has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, doctors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, contributing to the comprehensive support of service users.
A significant part of her experience involves supporting children and adolescents with emotional, learning, and behavioural difficulties, as well as those with special educational needs. She has also worked as a supply teacher in a secondary school in London, teaching Psychology to final-year students. Alongside this, she has delivered therapeutic interventions that promote self-esteem, social skills, and emotional regulation, supporting young people in both educational and clinical settings.
She has extensive experience within substance misuse services, where she has delivered weekly group therapy sessions for individuals experiencing addiction. Her work includes facilitating therapeutic groups and applying motivational enhancement techniques to support behavioural change and relapse prevention, while empowering individuals in their journey towards recovery and sobriety. In the course of her role, she has also been involved in Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures, working collaboratively with social services and mental health teams. In addition, she has contributed to parenting capacity assessments in cases involving addiction, providing professional input within multi-agency meetings to support informed decision-making regarding parent–child contact.
In parallel, Alexandra provided voluntary psychological support for two years at a UK-based anxiety charity in London, where she supported individuals experiencing low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma. Within this role, she contributed to therapeutic work with clients while further developing her counselling and communication skills. She delivered interventions informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy techniques, tailored to clients’ individual needs. Her approach focuses on equipping individuals with practical tools and strategies to enhance self-awareness, build resilience, and promote long-term independence and wellbeing.
Academically and professionally, Alexandra is trained and educated in London, at some of the world’s leading institutions for Psychology. She holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in Psychology of Education from University College London (UCL), as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Psychology with a specialization in Clinical and Counselling Psychology from the University of Derby. She completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology with a focus on Child Development (BSc Psychology with Child Development) at Birkbeck College, University of London. In addition, she has trained in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (Hypno-CBT) at the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy in London. This training is based on the modern Hypno-CBT model, which combines hypnosis techniques, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices. The program is approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and represents a comprehensive therapeutic approach applied internationally. Furthermore, she has completed training in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) coaching in London and is a certified NLP Practitioner.
She holds a license to practice psychology in Greece (Protocol No. 83922) and is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS), Membership Number 537497. Alexandra is also a member of The Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, reflecting her ongoing commitment to professional development and ethical practice in child and adolescent psychology.

As part of her academic and research activities, Alexandra Panaite has participated in research projects related to cognitive function, mental health, and child development.
- Volunteer Research Assistant, Honorary Research Assistant – University College London (UCL) Participated in a research team that studied the impact of music therapy on the interaction and emotional bonding between Greek mothers and their infants. The work involved thematic analysis of qualitative data under the guidance of Dr. Nina Polytimou, Lecturer in Psychology at UCL, in collaboration with researchers from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2023–2024).
