Psychologist MSc

Alexandra Panaite is a Psychologist specializing in Clinical and Child Psychology. She has 8 years of experience in the mental health sector in London, United Kingdom, and in Greece. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, traumatic experiences, emotional difficulties, and addiction issues, providing psychological support aimed at enhancing psychological resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth.   

Throughout her professional career, she has worked in healthcare services, general and special education settings in London, as well as in support facilities for individuals with addictions. In this context, she has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams consisting of psychiatrists, medical doctors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, contributing to the comprehensive support of her clients. 

A significant part of her experience involves supporting children and adolescents with emotional, learning, and behavioral difficulties, as well as children with special educational needs. At the same time, she has experience in conducting group therapy sessions and implementing interventions that enhance self-esteem, social skills, and emotional regulation. Additionally, she has worked as a substitute teacher at a high school in London, teaching Psychology to final-year students.

She has also worked in the field of supporting individuals with alcohol and substance addictions, facilitating therapy groups and applying motivational enhancement techniques for behavior change and relapse prevention. As part of her work, she has participated in Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures in collaboration with social services and mental health services. Furthermore, she has contributed to parental capacity assessments in cases of addiction, providing her professional evaluation during meetings with relevant authorities for decision-making regarding parent-child contact.

Academically, she holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Psychology of Education from University College London (UCL), as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology with a specialization in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from the University of Derby. She completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology specializing in Child Development (BSc Psychology with Child Development) at Birkbeck College, University of London. Additionally, she has trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Hypnotherapy (Hypno-CBT) at the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy in London. This training is based on the modern Hypno-CBT model, which combines hypnosis techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices. The training program is approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and constitutes a comprehensive therapeutic approach applied internationally. Furthermore, she has completed training in coaching with NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) in London and is a certified NLP Practitioner. 

She holds a license to practice psychology in Greece (Protocol No. 83922) and is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS), Membership Number 537497, as well as a member of professional organizations active in the fields of clinical psychology and child and adolescent mental health. 

In her therapeutic work, she places special emphasis on creating a safe and supportive environment where each person can express themselves freely, gain a deeper understanding of themselves, and develop more functional ways of managing life's difficulties. She aims to cultivate a therapeutic relationship based on trust, kindness, understanding, and compassion, offering a non-judgmental framework where the client feels accepted and safe. She believes that developing a meaningful therapeutic relationship is a fundamental prerequisite for effective collaboration and maximizing therapeutic progress.
